Having come into the course already knowing quite a bit about healthy eating, from having read some of Patrick's books, attending one of his lectures, and at one stage, seriously considering doing the Nutrition diploma, I was still able to gain an enormous amount of information and motivation without which I would not have been able to reach my goals!! What it really did, was tweak my way of eating, impress upon me the importance of eating carbohydrates with protein, eating regularly, and by thus doing, stop the cravings of sugar and caffeine which arrive suddenly and take you by surprise when you least expect!! By doing this I have lost 2kgs, 3% of my body fat AND feel and look a lot better! The most important result is that I am more even-tempered, less hormonal, do not get bad period cramps, and my periods have become more regular. [they have been like clockwork my whole life, but since the start of this year had become very irregular, probably start of peri-menopause.] I have a lot more energy and sleep better as a result of not been so thirsty at night because I think my increased omega intake through nuts and seeds which is new for me (in practice at least), means that I retain water more efficiently: previously I was constantly thirsty, so would even go to bed with a 3/4 litre water bottle, finish it, and would need to get up to use the toilet sometimes twice during the night, which disturbs sleep!! So....the difference has been remarkable. I didn't think that I needed to go on this course because I thought I knew it all! But the small changes I've made have made a huge difference and I now am confident that I will be able to lose the last 2 kg to achieve my goal! This definitely would not have happened had I not taken part in the program!!!
