Known far and wide as a haven for children's book lovers, customers can enjoy browsing and chatting about books in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere with knowledgeable and enthusiastic staff ready to offer advice and guidance.

Over the years The Lion and Unicorn have hosted many memorable events with a galaxy of celebrated authors and illustrators from Roald Dahl (who was the very first guest and opened the Lion & Unicorn in 1977), David McKee and Shirley Hughes to Jacqueline Wilson, Philip Pullman, Anthony Horowitz, Michael Morpurgo and Lauren Child.
The bookshop continues to hold regular events throughout the year and support author events in the wider community working in partnership with local schools, Richmond Young People's Library and Arts Richmond.
