Cambrian Community Centre - Richmond based charity promoting healthy living and evolving in response to the needs of the local people.
The Cambrian Community Centre was opened in 1989 as part of the Queens Road Estate development to provide facilities for the benefit of the people in the London Borough of Richmond.
To centre provides a focus for community activities and a venue for local groups and services, offering opportunities related to education, recreation, leisure and constructive activity.
Health and Fitness
Established for 18 years and formally the Workhouse Gym, this friendly exercise and fitness facility became part of the Cambrian Centre in 2002 and provides a low cost, active living option for all users and abilities in an informal and comfortable atmosphere.
Active Living Scheme
This scheme is primarily aimed at people who have health conditions which would benefit from regular physical activity. A collaboration between Richmond Local Authority, Richmond and Twickenham Primary Care Trust, local medical professionals, and local leisure facilities, this scheme provides various physical activity opportunities for people of all abilities and fitness levels.
The Cambrian Centre is proud to be the only independant centre involved in offering these schemes to local people through our Community Gym.
Youth Projects
The Cambrian youth club, part of the Cambrian youth project programme, provides a venue for supervised indoor and outdoor activities for 7 - 13 year old children from the Queens Road estate and local area. It is open 2 evenings a week, Wednesdays and Fridays, from 7.00pm - 8.30pm and focuses on play and sport.
The Cambrian Centre also offers holiday activities, aiming to provide a small programme of activities at the centre during some of the holidays for local children aged 8 - 12.
Cambrian Drop-in Playgroup
Your local Drop-in playgroup for toddlers, crawlers and their parents/carers. Lots of activities including painting, puzzles, toys, crafts sand and trampolining.
Room and Pitch Hire
Looking for a venue for a child's party? Need a meeting place for upto to 10 people? In search of a space to run an exercise/dance class or other activity? Why not try the Cambrian Community Centre!
