About the Shaftesbury Arms public house
A public house since 1853 and acquired by Young & Bainbridge in 1860, this distinctive public house was originally known as The Wheatsheaf, becoming the Shaftesbury Arms public house in 1878. The pub building was rebuilt in 1899 in an eclectic late Victorian style.

More recently, in 1988 the original two bars were merged into one bar, with the addition of a restaurant area in 2001. The Shaftesbury Arms pub in Richmond boasts an attractive traditional beer garden and the public house is conveniently situated near Richmond railway station.
