Solum Regeneration has submitted new plans in response to consultation with the Council.

The starting point of the new scheme will be a four storey Georgian style terrace running alongside the River Crane and a new riverside walk linking the station to Moormead Gardens.

The new scheme incorporates the original contemporary landmark building over a new ticket office and a new public square.

The new scheme

The scheme will transform the area around the station.  It will sweep away the current unsightly buildings and bring a modern, first class station to Twickenham with better interchange facilities to other transport modes.

It will also provide new shops and restaurants arranged around a striking public plaza, making Twickenham a more attractive destination for visitors and a more convenient station for regular commuters.

The major changes that Solum has made include:

  • The complete redesign of the terrace running alongside the River Crane, incorporating traditional Georgian architecture
  • A reduction in the height of the buildings across the scheme
  • A substantial reduction in the number of residential apartments from 165 to 115.

The scheme increases the available queuing space within the station by over 25%, which will help reduce the impact of crowds on international match days.

The proposed development will also be sustainable, delivering onsite renewable energy, and make the area feel safer.

Residents can can register their support for the proposals via the Solum Regeneration website.
