RETFORD CHARTER DAY

Retford Charter Day celebrates the granting of the Royal Charter and nowadays its a family fun day with all entertainment free.
There will be vintage tractors, vintage cars, charity market, trade market, Craft Fair plus arena events.
Also Retford Lions Club Duck Race, new Motor Show, Funfair, indoor & outdoor events including a trampoline act, sheepdog display, "Scruffs" Dog Show hosted by Babworth Animal Rescue Kennels in Market Square, food and drink, street entertainers, parades and marching bands, in fact everything you need for a great family fun day out.
Retford's Fire Station will be open to visitors to see what goes on behind the scenes, chip-pan fire demonstrations & much more.
Bassetlaw (North Notts) Railway Society are opening their Club Rooms on Platform 1 of Retford Station and light refreshments will be available to visitors.
There will be special displays at Bassetlaw Museum in Grove Street, Retford including one of the 18 Charters that East Retford town received between 1100 and 1607.
The displays and a themed programme of interesting and fun events for grownups and children alike, to mark Charter Day will be available from 10am to 4pm.
Charter Day celebrations take place in Retford Town Centre:
Market Square, Carolgate, Exchange Street, The Buttermarket, Kings Park & the Town Hall.
Monday 4 May 09 - all day from 10-00am 'til 4-00pm
