Transport yourself back in time at one of the finest, most individual cafes, tea rooms and restaurants in the Retford area.

Situated in what was once the Mayor's house, The Drawing Room takes inspiration from Agatha Christie's England, with beautiful chandeliers, traditional, antique furniture and Georgian windows, through which to gaze over Retford's main square.

As well as its classical decor, The Drawing Room harks back to the traditional values of quality, presentation and service.

Owned and run by Martin and Jane, The Drawing Room coffee shop/tea room & restaurant is one of Retford's hidden gems. Martin was previously an executive chef for one of the UK's leading 4 and 5* hotel chains, and has years of experience at a number of quality restaurants.

Their ethos is simple: to provide quality, restaurant standard food at cafe prices.

Recently reviewed by the Worksop Guardian, The Drawing Room was proud to receive 5 stars from the local paper:

"This place, tucked away behind the town's main square, is a real treat for the discerning luncher... the place was full with people, from elderly couples to families with small children.

• Light Lunches - including homemade Quiche, Thai Cod and Prawn Fishcakes and Welsh Rarebit

• All Day Breakfasts - a huge range of options available, including Full English, Mega Breakfasts and Hot Toasted Muffins with a choice of fillings

• Traditional Sandwiches and Toasted Sandwiches - on white or brown bread, with a mixed leaf garnish, homemade coleslaw and crisps

• Speciality Sandwiches - including Italian Meat Classic, Roasted Wild Mushroom and Continental, served on ciabatta, as a wrap or granary bread

• Jacket Potatoes with a choice of gourmet fillings and served with a mixed leaf garnish and homemade coleslaw
