I have to go out of my way to visit Mellors Butchers but its always well worth the drive. Its an old fashioned shop with good old-fashioned, efficient, service. Superb quality meat, delicious pies, sausages and pasties. Food heaven.

I live in London but regularly travel to the North to visit my elderly mother in Yorkshire. Each time I use the A1 I make the detour to Milton to visit Mellors and buy their prize winning pork pies, sausages and bacon. My friends and family in London always remind me when I head off. Equally if my mother is with me we buy their excellent frozen pies to put in her freezer and some of their excellent fresh meat. There is always a friendly welcome and sometimes a sausage roll to help the journey along.
