Located south of Retford in Milton, near Tuxford, the farm has been in the family since the 1930s, yet it wasn't until 1978 that Peter Mellors had the idea of selling freezer packs of meat to the local community. They were so successful that the family set up a tiny farm shop and word soon got around.
Now one of North Nottinghamshire's leading butchers and farm shops, Mellors Farm Butchers Shop is now run by Peter, his son Ben and granddaughter, Rosie.

With decades of experience in butchery and farming, Peter Mellors is past retirement age but is showing no signs of slowing down!
He is the driving force behind the farm shop's home-made produce and can turn his hand to anything, from adapting his mother's pork pie recipe into the award-winning Mellors Pork Pie to making freshly baked scones sold at the farm shop.
Ben Mellors, Peter's son, is also a skilled butcher and has been involved in the shop for years. Whether you require a traditional joint or something more specialised, Peter, Ben and team delight in providing a personal service.
We are extremely proud of our reputation for excellent quality, both in the Retford and North Nottinghamshire area and further afield. Customers travel from all over England - and even Scotland! - to buy our famous pork pies and one lady has been visiting us from London every three months for the past 20 years!

Mellors Farm Butchers Shop has been supplying a huge range of quality local meats for over 30 years. All of our beef is reared on the farm, slaughtered at Woods Abattoir just 10 miles away and hung for at least two, if not three weeks, to ensure tender, mature beef.
Our other meats have all been locally sourced from the finest suppliers in Nottinghamshire, and hand-picked by us to meet our very high grade.
