My wife is currently an in-patient at the Cedars, and I have been amazed by the dedication and level of care shown by all the staff I have talked to. Not only do they offer a superbly, sensitive care plan to the patient, but also offer care and compassion to friends and relatives. They are prepared to listen and show interest, over things which I'm sure they must hear from most relatives. Also it is nice to hear and see cheerful people going about their duties, when I was expecting solemnity and shhhh at all times. So please if you can make the time go and have a look, and imagine one of your own family members needing the hospices services. The hospice desperately needs funds to help maintain it's high standards, so please for everyones sake, give generously, after all none of us know what the future has in store.
Yours Mark Butler

I am a volunteer driver and helper in respect of Daycare Patients at Bassetlaw Hospice.

The Hospice also cater for In-patients and provides a range of services to all patients, not just medical, but sympathetic care and attention regarding their problems.

The feedback I have personally obtained from both Inpatient Unit and Daycare patients is of their high regard & praise for the staff, quality of care and attention received.

Many of the Daycare Patients look upon the weekly visit to the Hospice as their highlight of the week, some for which it is their only day out.

The hospice is so well thought of by the Patients, that it merits without question a 5 star rating.

I have been employed at Bassetlaw Hospice (Cedar House) for almost 13 years, working initially in the In Patient Unit as a Staff Nurse and currently as the Senior Nurse in the Day Care Unit.

Bassetlaw Hospice has been supporting patients across Bassetlaw for 16yrs, during this time it has achieved an excellent reputation for the gold standard of care it delivers to patients and their carers.

Our aim is to ensure all patients and the carer’s physical, emotional, spiritual and psychological needs are met. The hospice staff and volunteers are very proud of the unique environment. It is situated by the canal and has pleasant landscaped gardens, a summer house and numerous seated areas. The interior is equally inviting, tastefully decorated to a high standard and always well maintained, and is supplied with all aids and equipment that may be required during a patient’s stay in Cedar House.

We are able to offer such quality care and support in these wonderful surroundings because of Bassetlaw Hospice Charity. The Charity Trustees, Fund Raisers and the large team of volunteers working tirelessly to fund raise across Bassetlaw.
