To encourage visitors and shoppers to Retford I have always felt strongly about making the first hour of parking in town free.

However, I recently discovered that the car park charges in Retford are MUCH cheaper than other towns outside Bassetlaw. Take a look at what Mansfield, Doncaster, Nottingham and Lincoln charge – it makes me very glad to be in Bassetlaw!

I have also learnt that the funds raised through the car parks help fund other things that are provided to us in Bassetlaw. Consequently, I have changed my mind and now feel the charges for car parking in town are very reasonable.

Furthermore, it seems there are no plans at present to increase car park charges in Bassetlaw, so good for you Bassetlaw DC!
