Following the launch of Bassetlaw District Council’s Food Hygiene Rating Scheme for businesses, we can now make informed choices about where to eat out or shop for food across Bassetlaw.
Restaurants, pubs, cafes, takeaways, hotels, supermarkets and other food shops were all included in the scheme.
Each business was inspected by a food safety officer and given a ‘hygiene rating’ which shows how the business is meeting the requirements of food hygiene law.
Look out for a sticker in the window or on the door or a certificate on display, when eating out or shopping for food.
Businesses are rated from 0 to 5 as follows:
0 - Urgent improvement necessary
1 - Major improvement necessary
2 - Improvement necessary
3 - Generally satisfactory
4 – Good
5 - Very Good
Many congratulations to The Best of Retford Business Members who are amongst the select businesses and organisations from our area, awarded the top rating of 5:
