Retford’s annual floral display never fails to cheer up even the darkest day and makes life more pleasant for everyone who lives, works or visits Retford.
And Retford in Bloom 2011 is your chance to reward all those who brighten up our lives by creating the most wonderful floral displays and bringing colour to our lovely town.
Next time you stop to admire a garden as you pass it by, make a note of the address and when you get home put pen to paper!
ENTRY & NOMINATION
Nominations or entries are sought from members of the public for inclusion in the following categories:
- Best group of houses or residential area
- Best floral shop front
- Best public house display
- Best Community Environmental Project
- Primary School and Secondary School - ‘Growing Projects’
Entries are limited to those within the town boundaries and can be made by completing a simple entry form, available from Bookworm in Spa Lane and the Library in Churchgate. Just complete the form and return to Bookworm or the Library.
You could even nominate yourself or a member of your family.
Nominations can also be placed by phoning Derek Turner on Retford 702929. Derek is this year’s coordinator of Retford in Bloom.

JUDGING RETFORD IN BLOOM 2011
Judging the floral decorations is by the Retford in Bloom judges as part of Retford Civic Society. This year the competition judging will take place in late July/early August, and the presentation ceremony will be held, as usual, in the Town Hall in September.
Don’t forget to look out for the results which will be published after the Presentation Evening in September.
