Did you know that a Catholic priest from Stockport actually introduced the UK to the phenomenon of the car boot sale in the 1970s after being taken to one whilst holidaying in Canada?

Now regularly taking place on weekends throughout the year at thousands of sites across the UK, here in Retford, we are lucky enough to be within spitting distance of one of the biggest car boot sales in England.

Held on the A634 Oldcotes to Blyth Road near Retford, Oldcotes Sunday Car Boot Sale is the largest car boot sale in North Nottinghamshire, with approximately 600 sellers in the summer months, selling a whole host of pre-loved, secondhand goods, as well as a market section with fresh fruit and vegetables and new goods as well as used.

And now, this summer, Oldcotes has launched its Wednesday Car Boot Sale, which promises to be a fantastic mid-week day out, whether you are a buyer or seller!

Oldcotes Car Boot Sale is open every Wednesday from 10am until 3pm, plus every Sunday and Bank Holiday.

Sellers can arrive from 9am and secondhand sellers pitch fee costs £8. Alternatively, if you're planning on selling new goods, the pitch fee starts at £12.

Oldcotes Car Boot sale near Retford is open to buyers from 10am; entrance to the car boot sale costs just £1. There is plenty of parking available and toilets and various refreshments on-site.
