Want to save money on your energy bills?

Residents across Surrey can now - and in many cases already are - regain control over soaring energy bills by using a simple energy monitor.

The scheme, organised by Surrey County Council, hopes to save Surrey residents as much as £150 a year on bills, and homes throughout the Redhill and Reigate area are already taking part.

Almost rudely simple, the idea involves borrowing an energy monitor from Surrey Council to get a better understanding of energy consumption of appliances throughout the home. Developing an understanding of consumption rates at various times and upgrading to more energy efficient models where applicable can really help to reduce the over-all costs.

Surrey Climate Change Partnership - made up of members of Surrey County Council and the county’s 11 borough and district councils - are supporting the scheme.

Each monitor can be borrowed for up to three weeks, and there are 300 available for loan from Surrey's 54 libraries.

For more information or to find out if your local library has a monitor in stock call 0300 200 1001.
