Sue Fenton cut her teeth in a wide range of journalistic and editorial roles, within the newspaper and corporate worlds amongst others. She spent several years in corporate communications/PR for major companies before moving into business-to-business magazines and then going freelance.
FWords was born from her desire to have greater control over her work choices, and to be allow her to dedicate more time to her growing number of private clients.
Sue's experience ensures that FWords provides the best services whether it's copywriting for speeches, features or brochure copy. FWords services also include proof reading, sub-editing, editing, press releases, and to meet-and greet representing clients at functions. Sue's experience in design and photography also means she commissions and liaises regularly with designers and photographers/picture editors, to ensure the correct balance and layout within the work, providing a total production service.
Sue has various industry qualifications, including the NCTJ newspaper journalism certificate, an NVQ in magazine production and the BAIE certificate in industrial editing. She is a long-standing member of the National Union of Journalists and has an honours degree in Humanities from the Open University.
FWords thrives on variety and Sue will happily work on anything from a one-off press release or feature article to a regular company magazine. She is equally at home researching and writing; sub-editing; proof-reading; or editing and production managing entire publications. She will also consider acting as holiday or maternity cover for companies' in-house communications departments.
Sue has even been known to undertake specialist training to better understand the lingo and subject matter for particular clients - she now rather proudly can declare basic training in balloon decor and face painting!
