Great News for Gatton Park Tennis Centre in Reigate - I read in Redhill & Reigate Life this week that the centre has been given a £400,000 investment by the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) towards creating a centre of excellence.

It's hoped the investment will help produce future champions, and with Wimbledon just down the road and the 2012 Olympics approaching, that spells great things for tennis fans in the South.

Apparently Gatton Park plans to build four indoor acrylic courts, four indoor floodlit courts, and five outdoor mini courts. They also hope to put the money towards projects for developing talent and boosting its player base. The investment will also help develop a greater tennis community, with access for all ages and abilities.

Work begins in January, and I hope to follow developments closely.
