Along with several other bloggers and interweb users, I am not happy with the prospect of having to pay to use Facebook. Not happy at all.
I was sent the link NO, I WILL NOT PAY £3.99 A MONTH TO USE FACE BOOK FROM JULY 9TH 2010! last night, and I'm not even sure if it's genuine.
However, I have become a Fan, just in case.
I only use Facebook for social networking - keeping up with old friends, swapping photos, that sort of thing.
But I do check it on a near-daily basis. The curse of working from home, my laptop is usually cranked up and Facebook open. I'm not a fanatic though, oh no. Not for me the virtual farms, aquariums, poking or gift-giving. Quite frankly I can't be bothered with all that malarky. I pop on, check what my friends are up to, maybe let them know what I'm doing, chat, upload the odd photo or two, then I'm off again.
And for that I don't expect to have to pay.
If they do start charging, I shall stop using, it's that simple.
Annoying, but simple.
I have however seen a Facebook Blog article from over a year ago, when they assure their readers they are NOT about to start charging. So who knows what's going on, but it's certainly sparked a lot of interest if you Google the subject!
