OMG, like - I'm having a trip down retro memory lane...
No I haven't lost the power of Queen's English, I'm just exercising my down-with-the-kids speak so I stand a chance of fitting in. Where? To a roller disco of all places!
I'm determined not to look like some ageing Desperate trying too hard to look hip. So I'm getting my head round yoot lingo and what's what in the charts nowadays. Which in itself - and the fact that I've just used the word nowadays - pretty much guarantees I'll look exactly like an ageing Desperate trying too hard to look hip.
I'm doomed.
I digress: this Saturday I'm taking my nieces and nephews to a roller disco. Now I haven't been to one of those since I was about 13, and I'm only guessing it follows the same format. Music, skating round and round, gain some bruises.
I've been assured it's the done thing at the moment, and my charges all love it. They go to the RocknRoller Roller Disco at Donyngs Leisure Centre in Linkfield Lane, Redhill. There's more information about it on the Where We Can Go website.
I was pleased to see that it's part of the NHS' Change For Life scheme, and billed as fun for all the family.
It'd better be fun, because I think I'm about to humiliate myself entirely!
