Christmas shoppers in Reigate will benefit this year from Free Parking days throughout the areas town centres, thanks to Reigate & Banstead Borough Council. They hope to help traders and shoppers alike, and it could mean a saving of up to £5 for a day's parking.
The Council's press release contained the following information on which car parks are taking part:
"Car parking spaces at the Council’s car parks in the High Street and The Horseshoe, Banstead and The Mound, Tattenham Corner, some 244 spaces, will be free of charge on Saturday 28 November.
Meanwhile, all 535 spaces in Bancroft Road, Bell Street and Upper West Street car parks in Reigate will be free on the day of the town's Christmas Extravaganza, Saturday 5 December, when Santa lands in Priory Park by helicopter, welcomed by the Mayor of Reigate & Banstead, Cllr Richard Mantle.
Free parking in Council run car parks in Redhill at Gloucester Road, Marketfield Road, Clarendon Road and Linkfield Corner, and the Victoria Road, Library and Central car parks in Horley on 19 December will provide shoppers with another 629 free parking spaces.
The weekly Saturday market will be operating in the High Street car park in Horley on 19 December.
For details and locations of Council run car parks see the Council’s website www.reigate-banstead.gov.uk. "
