Last week a press release was distributed looking for the owners of a lost dog.
I'd love to know if the nicknamed 'Sebastian' was reunited with his owners, so please let us know at TheBestOf Redhill and TheBestOf Reigate.

Otherwise, please read the following to see if the dog's descriptions rings an bells:

Reigate & Banstead Borough Council    Press release    12/10/2009

Dog warden seeks lost dog’s owners

Reigate & Banstead Borough Council’s Dog Warden is appealing to the owners of a tan Shih Tzu, found in Crutchfield Lane, Sidlow, on Monday 28 September, to come forward and claim their pet.

The male dog, Nicknamed 'Sebastian' by kennel staff, is thought to be around two to five years old and had been castrated.  He does not have an identification micro-chip and was not wearing a collar.

Dog Warden, Lorraine Buttenshaw, said: "We think someone is missing him.  He looks well cared for and appears to have recently been clipped.  He is a lovely dog and has a loving nature.  But so far no one has come forward to say they have lost him.  If you think Sebastian is yours or you know someone who has lost a dog like him please get in touch so we can try to reunite him with his owners.  If his owners cannot be found soon he will have to be rehomed."

The family who found Sebastian want to offer him a home but the Council first need to make sure that he doesn’t already have an owner that is looking for him.

Lorraine has asked around the area and checked missing pets databases but to no avail.

Lorraine added:  "It is important that people get their pets microchipped and that they wear an ID collar, so that should their pet become lost they can be identified, making it easier to reunite them with their real owners."

If Sebastian is your dog or you have information about who he might belong to please contact the Dog Warden on 01737 276507.

Did 'Sebastian' find his home??
