The property was taken over by the RAF during WWII and after that Thanet Council in Ramsgate purchased it and it was used as a hotel until it was sold in 1972. Since then it has been bought and sold several times, run as a hotel and then as a venue for conferences, weddings and other occasions.
Court Stairs is now well known across Ramsgate and Thanet as a successful Wedding Venue. It is set in stunning grounds with views overlooking the sea. Brides in particular are always commenting on how breathtaking their day has been.
