James Campbell, the first stand-up comedian for kids, returns to the Lighthouse for four shows, Tuesday 25 and Wednesday 26 July 11:00 am and 2:00 pm prior to a two-week stint in the Edinburgh Fringe Spiegeltent.
He brought Comedy 4 Kids to the Lighthouse in 2003, a week of stunningly received shows. Designed for children aged from 6 upwards, James material is surreal, thought provoking and amazingly funny. The show is a blend of comedy, story telling and improvisation and is just as much fun for adults as children.
James Campell has performed to over 1000 primary schools as well as the Edinburgh Fringe; the Adelaide Fringe; the Melbourne Comedy Festival; Malaysia; Singapore; and three West End runs. James was also the first and so far the only children's show to be invited to the Montreal Comedy Festival. James recently had a three week Broadway run. He hosts the worlds first comedy club for children and writes plays, comedy, poems, songs and stories.
Comedy 4 Kids is part of the family friendly policy at the Lighthouse aiming to promote hihg quality performance and activities for children and young people. Alongside the event are special children's meals in the café, priced, £3.75. For small children there are chicken teddies or fishy dinosaurs with chips, whilst bigger children are offered a half portion of an adult main course such as beef curry, mushroom stroganoff, chicken or crab salad.
