For those who have not witnessed one of his performances, Ralph Allin is a revelation, an artist with the rare ability to combine jaw dropping virtuosity with universal musical appeal. His programme is both entertaining, well crafted, and uniquely diverse in content, where fiery gypsy music blends perfectly with infectious latin rhythm, and 'clasical' cadenzas cresendo effortlessly into Swing, and this is swing with a capital 'S' - all providing the backdrop for Allin's energetic and innovative arrangements of the great jazz standards and original compositions. The quartet has performed at venues accross the country from the smallest jazz club, to the major concert halls, and everything else in between. Leading venues include Symphony Hall, the Barbican, Ronnie Scotts, Royal Performance at the Albert Hall, national and international music festivals - Chelsea, Henley, Upton Jazz, Birmingham International Jazz ... the list goes on. Radio broadcasts include Radio 2 'Friday Night is Music Night', BBC Artist of the Week, and 'Woman's Hour!' "Quotes from Reviews" A musical experience second to none…performed with wonderful precision, style and artistry. An evening to be treasured and remembered. Allin had the skill to make his violin talk, or should that be sing. After Ralph Allin's spell-binding tribute to Stephane Grappelli the realm is in safe hands. Ralph Allin is a revelation. There is no better jazz violinist in the country. One of the most amazing sessions ever had…we couldn't believe our ears. Allin is a virtuoso of the violin…The audience loved it, their applause and demands for encore proved the point. One of the most entertaining young men we've seen Drop everything when you see a sign for a Ralph Allin gig. Buy a ticket and listen in wonder as he weaves his musical spell...He goes the whole mile so that you can experience a brilliant sound and then blends it with a thick layer of laconic wit that makes you want to stand up to applaud. Ralph Allin left the audience hardly able to believe that such superb music was available Ralph Allin and his quartet performed again in Granvilles, to a packed house and left a delighted audience shouting for 'more'. Delightfully diverse, and at one with the audience. Tickets Visitors £7.00 PJC members £5.00 Plymcards £6.00 Students £3.00
