Launch of Armed Forces Day Plymouth & UK 2010

• Armed Forces Day (AFD),is to honour our Service personnel, past, present
and future, and will be held on Saturday 26 June 2010.
• AFD is also designed to recognise the contribution made by the wider
Armed Forces community, which includes veterans, families and cadets.
The theme is ‘Show Your Support’ and members of the public are being
encouraged to take part in events and homecoming parades.
• The City of Cardiff has been chosen to host the 2010 AFD national event,
which will be complemented by over 100 community-led events in towns
and cities across the UK.
• The first AFD was held in 2009 and built on the success of the former
Veterans Day.
