Charity Coffee Morning for the VC Gallery, Milford Haven—Friday 14th November at Clynfyw Care Farm, Abercych—do come!

‘We really wanted to hold our Friday November 14th coffee morning to support veterans,' said Jim Bowen, Clynfyw Care Farm manager. 'I have known Barry John MBE of the VC Gallery for a few years and have been hugely inspired by the work he is doing. As a decorated soldier himself, Barry speaks from first hand about military life. The people he supports know he knows exactly what they have been through for our country. Its a brilliant cause.'

Set up in 2013, the VC Gallery uses arts as a means of engagement for veterans, particularly those with post traumatic stress disorder. 'The main aim of the VC Gallery is to help Veterans and the Community using art engagement,' said Barry John. 'We constantly show how active engagement is a hugely powerful tool to support people with mental health illness, of which PTSD is one. It can take years for veterans to recover and face what they have been through and we are there to help provide positive opportunities and a pathway where there often is none.'

Clynfyw Care Farm’s holds coffee mornings on the second Friday of each month for different charities. The next event, on December 12th, is for Pembrokeshire Care Society which will include a carol service.

Clynfyw also run a Social Club each Tuesday evening which replaces Cardigan's Gateway Club which closed earlier this year.
