Kids can learn to shoot arrows like Robin Hood and train with his band of merry men to become fully fledged outlaws. And they’ll find out how to make a grass trumpet and track animals during a day of adventure activities at the fabulous Carew Castle and Tidal Mill in Pembrokeshire.
Many events all summer long
Robin Hood Adventure week is just one of many events up-coming at Carew Castle and Tidal Mill. There is something here to keep the whole family entertained all summer long.
From Monday July 27 to Friday, July 31, every day from 11am to 4pm the Robin Hood Adventure takes place in the Castle grounds. Kids can learn to shoot arrows in the archery group, find out all they need to know to be a real outlaw, make their own masks as part of Medieval Fun activities in the courtyard, and join more outlaws as they brings the story alive in Robin Hood – The Play.
They can also go on an outlaw hunt to find the outlaws hiding in the Castle. It’s a great day out for kids, all set in a stunning location.
There is plenty for all the family to see and do too at Carew Castle, which overlooks a 23-acre millpond.
The site incorporates an impressive 11th century Celtic cross, the only restored tidal mill in Wales, a medieval bridge and a picnic area, all linked by a one-mile circular walk with uninterrupted views of the castle. There is an easy-access path suitable for wheelchairs and buggies. Guided tours of the site are available daily during the summer.
Other activities and attractions on offer through the summer include archaeology tours, falconry displays, Medieval fun days and twilight tours. There are one-off musical, story-telling and theatre events too. Check the programme on the website for more.
