Our classes are small and our teaching methods are very much "hands on". Our teachers are fully qualified and experienced in teaching dyslexic children and follow the National Curriculum. Children are encouraged to develop to their own potential and through proactive learning, the school provides intensive teaching according to individual needs.


We offer a calm, relaxing and family environment. One to one teaching is provided to promote self confidence and self esteem, as well as a variety of learning strategies to enable children to succeed.


Dyslexic children are often extremely imaginative and creative and at The Unicorn School, we work hard to nurture those talents through the subjects of art, music and drama.


At The Unicorn School we have a state of the art IT suite where teachers work with children on literacy and numeracy. Children are encouraged to safely explore the Internet and we offer dyslexia software to assist with spelling and other subject areas.


Sport, health and fitness are an essential part of life at The Unicorn School. An annual residential school trip provides the opportunity to try rock climbing and abseiling and weekly swimming lessons allow children to enjoy and experience the open water.


Parents are as much a part of our school as the children and are invited to drop by on occasion as well as offer a support network to other parents.
