If you're not a sausage fan you'll probably be unimpressed, but then why would you go to a place like The Big Bang unless you want to celebrate the taste of what was once dubbed (I think in the TV series Yes Minister) 'the emulsified high fat offal tube'?
Plus points:
It's friendly
It's not part of a chain
It's got a BYO basement
The beers are good
You can get a free breakfast if you sign up for the newsletter
If you fancy a snack, try The Piglet for £2 - some sliced bread, couple of pieces of pate, a pot of hummous and a plate of olives. Bargain!

Mmmmmm. I can still taste the beautiful Oxfordshire sausages in my mouth, along with fantastic spring onion mash and a tasty red wine jus. The meal we had at Big Bang was fantastic, and very, very, VERY filling. I'm not usually one to leave food on my plate, but Big Bang certainly beat me. But it was a good, satisfying, sausage-induced beating. Brilliant.

The staff were great, the food was fantastic, and the restaurant itself very cool. It's such a shame that this place is so small, though it does ensure that every diner has a more unique experience.

Go at once! And try the Old Hooky beer, it's great!

The Big Bang is one of my favourite restaurants in Oxford. They do pretty much nothing other than bangers and mash, and it's easy to see why they've won awards for their food. I usually stick with the vegetarian tomato and basil because I think they're out of this world. Put with the mustard mash and it's the stuff that dreams are made of - literally - I dream about it! I highly recommend this place.
