Established in 1974, Oxford Karate Academy is a karate school owned and run by Shihan Paul Coleman, Kiyoshi, Seventh Dan under the All Japan Karate Federation Goju-Kai. Paul is one of only five people outside of Japan to have achieved the highest level in this style of martial arts.
In fact all the instructors at OxfordKarateAcademy are extremely highly qualified. Paul often teaches and lectures to karate schools and martial arts experts worldwide and the Academy host regular seminars with Japanese masters.
The OxfordKarateAcademy includes a thriving Karate Kids section. Children as young as 6 can begin to learn pre-karate skills and the Junior section extends to 11 year olds. The karate classes aim to teach respect and discipline which extends beyond the martial arts lesson and many parents find that their child's behaviour improves through attending the karate school. At OxfordKarateAcademy kids classes, the emphasis is always on fun but important skills are learned, including stranger danger and anti-bullying strategies. Parents are encouraged to get involved!
