CHUMS Befriending Service and QUBE are working in partnership to bring care and support to the community.CHUMS cover the whole of Shropshire offering friendship and company through volunteer befrienders to predominantly but not exclusively disabled adults who feel isolated from their community and are in need of someone to talk to. Complementing this, QUBE provides shopping services in North Shropshire for those who need assistance, which could involve transport (collecting from home, taken shopping and returned home) or telephone ordering where your shopping is brought to your door by volunteers.

Volunteers are always needed, we ask for a minimum of 2 hours per week over 12 month period. All volunteers have an enhanced DBS check, references and go through one days training. Volunteers choose their own client in order to match interests and time available as much as possible. You can choose the hours you work, some volunteers do weekends or evenings, whenever they can fit it in.

Volunteers meet the client in their own home or sometimes taking them out for a coffee and a chat.

CHUMS is a service of Shropshire Peer Counselling & Advocacy Service (Charity number 1102986)
