Pony Trekking in North Wales

It may seem odd that with a name like mine I've never yet been on a horse. :)

And I know it's a little early for a New Year's resolution but I've made one, which is to book a pony trekking session at Andy Pughe's pony trekking and quad bike centre in the Ceiriog Valley.

What a venue!  Whether you're from Wrexham, Chester, North Wales or further afield, you will rarely find a more beautifiul spot than this.  Although it's a cliche to quote Lloyd George who said it was, "A little bit of heaven on earth" - it's a cliche for a reason.

Spend five minutes up there and you are transported to a different place within yourself.  It's no surprise to me that busy London execs drive up there, go trekking and then drive back on the same day.  When asked, they say it just gets all the stresses and strains of city life out in one go.

The horses are quite beautiful too - all stunning Welsh Cobs.  What could be more romantic in a way than riding along on a Welsh Cob in the Welsh Marches.

So, in September, I'm going to give it a go. :)  Can't wait.
