The AGM of Oswestry Chamber of Commerce took place last night (Wednesday 3rd April 2013) at the Wynnstay Hotel and was attended by members new and old who voted to elect a new committee for the coming year.

Retiring Chairman, Martin Anderson led the meeting and, after reviewing the past year and taking time to reflect on some of the key topics discussed, debated and decided during that period managed the appointments process.

The new committee is made up as follows;

·         Chair - Heather Noble, Salt solutions

·         Vice Chair - Paul Wiseman, Paul Wiseman Investigations

·         Secretary - Fiona Barnes, Moghill Web Services

·         Treasurer - Louise Hudson, Hudson LM

·         Edward Arran, Be Brilliant

·         Jools Payne, Jools Payne Partnership

·         John Waine, Best of Oswestry

·         Gemma Syrett- Judd, Honeysuckle Wholefoods

·         Martin Anderson, Martin Anderson Consulting

·         Rachel Edwards, REplayit

Guest speaker on the evening was David Coull, Chief Executive of Coverage Care Services, who shared an overview of the range of facilities that will be made available to both residents and the wider community of Oswestry at the New Fairholme premises opening soon on Shrewsbury Road.

Incoming Chair, Heather Noble said ‘I’m delighted to be taking over the reins from Martin Anderson who has done some incredible work for Oswestry Chamber of Commerce over the past 12 months. He has left me with a fantastic new team to work with who, I know, share my commitment to strengthening and broadening the reach of Oswestry in both the local community and beyond.’

She added ‘I see the Chamber of Commerce very much as a two way street. It serves not only to plan and present the voice of the business community to the wider area but also provides a platform for organisations to present their thoughts, views and plans to an informed, engaged and forward thinking body of people.’
