We did wonder whether the Olympic Torch would make it to Oswestry and today it was announced that, indeed, it will pass through on it's way around the UK!

On the 30th May 2012, Oswestry will be along from torch's rout from Chester to Stoke-on-Trent.  On it's way, it'll pass though: Wrexham, Rhostyllen, Acrefair, Trevor, Oswestry, Pant, Llanymynech, Welshpool, Shrewsbury, Cressage, Much Wenlock, Benthall, Broseley, Ironbridge, Telford, Newport, Gnosall, Haughton, Stafford, Shelton to Stoke on Trent.

We believe it'll also cross the aqueduct at Pontcysyllte which should make for a spectacle!

This is great news too for The Oswestry Games to be held in July 2012.
