Oswestry Dial-a-ride would like to say a big thank you to the local press and to local residents who have responded to an urgent call for more volunteers to work at Oswestry Dial-a-ride.
With the help of local newspapers promoting the request for volunteers to come forward people have come into Dial-a-ride expressing an interest to volunteers and some are already trained up and due to start. Oswestry Dial-a-ride provides a door-to-door service for Oswestry residents who are unable to use general transport due to rural isolation, old age or disability. The service operates with the help of volunteers who take on the roles of drivers and passenger escorts.
“We are really pleased with the level of response that we have had from the urgent call out for volunteers, we genuinely could not run this service without our volunteers. We still need more, so please do call into Qube on Oswald Road if you are interested in volunteering with us” said Liz Hindmarch, Transport and Buildings Manager, Qube.
