Local Rotarians have joined together with local youngsters and students from Edge Hill University to form the Rotaract Club of Ormskirk Edge Hill.

The club has been formed by local youngsters together with students from Edge Hill University, and they are scheduled to meet twice a month to socialise, plan local service projects, get involved in charitable fund raising projects, and just generally have some fun.

Members are already running bingo sessions in a residential care home,  and other projects planned for the immediate future include tidying up the area between the railway and the bus station, some work in Ruff Woods and generally building bridges with the local community.

The group has set out to improve the image of students in the town by showing that they are really keen to contribute to the local community. Members also want to help projects in other countries.

The group will be holding regular meetings, on the second and fourth Monday of each month at 7pm in Ormskirk (venue to be confirmed).

The Rotaract Club is grateful for the sponsorship it has received from three local Rotary clubs -  Ormskirk, Maghull & Aughton, and Ormskirk Clocktower.
