The WLWR offers temporary shelter for women and children who have suffered mental and physical cruelty. The key aim of the refuge is to offer support, advice, help and information to women regarding social welfare, legal and housing problems.
We always encourage women to determine their own futures, whether this involves returning home or starting a new life elsewhere.

The Refuge
Is a safe house run by women, for women and children, offering temporary accommodation for any woman who needs to escape violence, married or single, with or without children.
Many women come to the refuge for a break from the violence. The refuge provides a breathing space where decisions can be made, free from pressure and fear. Women can stay as long as they want to, anything from a few days to several months.
The Floating Support Service
This is a support service for women and their children who are affected by domestic violence and want to stay in their homes.
Designed for women who are living in their own homes who would like one-to-one support, advice, help and care from someone that understands about domestic violence and the problems it can cause.
The Information & Drop-In Centre
Based in Ormskirk, open Monday to Saturday providing information on all issues of domestic violence/abuse.
Offering a safe and calm environment for women to speak openly and in confidence concerning their abuse and to receive support, advice and information so they can make informed choices regarding their future.
