An exciting addition to the local Food & Drink scene has recently opened in the Aughton district of Ormskirk, with Halewood Inns Ltd's stunning refurbishment of the former Cockbeck Tavern now up and running as "The Crying Tree". On leafy Town Green Lane, The Crying Tree Bar & Grill has a style and ambience much in keeping with this lovely West Lancashire neighbourhood.
Directors Gary Brunt and Billy Gillbanks are confident that The Crying Tree in Aughton will be just as much a roaring success as its namesake in Gateacre, and they are quickly establishing Halewood Inns Ltd as a premier operator in the Pubs & Inns market. Offering fine food, fabulous wines and fantastic beers in a cosy, contemporary environment, Gary and Billy's central vision is to make sure everyone who comes to the pub leaves fulfilled. They see The Crying Tree as a hub for the community - and it looks like that's going to be a pretty big community, with folk already visiting from much further afield.
Diners are treated to simple, elegant, modern British traditional pub food, with a strong regional influence thanks to great local produce cooked fresh. Wholesome hearty dishes like Sausage & Mash with Onion Gravy are offered alongside more exotic specialities such as Chilli Tiger Prawns.
The menus aim to offer something for everyone, with great choices and regular changes and additions. Pie of the Moment, Curry of the Week, and Sharing Platters are joined by tempting Daily Offers, running through from Messy Monday to Fish Friday. And a real proper Traditional Sunday Lunch is a great way to round off the weekend. Nobody is left out either - there's a fun Kids Menu for the younger ones, and for those whose appetites aren't what they used to be there are lots of Lighter Choices.
