What We Do:
At Home Start Ormskirk, our support is free, confidential and non-judgmental. In fact, almost 25% of families refer themselves to Home-Start, which speaks for itself.
We can help to increase the confidence and independence of local families:
- We visit families in their own homes in the Ormskirk area to offer support, friendship and practical assistance.
- We reassure parents that their childcare problems are not unusual or unique to them.
- We encourage parents' strengths and emotional well-being for the benefit of their children.
- We try to get the fun back into family life.
Our volunteers in Ormskirk, who have parenting experience themselves, can offer the following support:
- Precious time for listening and talking with you.
- Help with your children.
- A break for parents.
- Practical help and reassurance.
- A chance to meet other parents in the same situation.
- Support to use local services and resources in the Ormskirk area.

All you need to do is call and ask for our support, then we will arrange a meeting with one of our local organisers who will carefully match you with our most appropriate volunteer. Our local volunteers, who all have practical parenting experience, will visit you for a couple of hours per week, offering you both emotional and practical help.
