The second chance project has been awarded funds by the Community Recycling and Economic Development Programme, through the Big Lottery Fund's Transforming Waste Initiative.
The 'Transforming Waste' programme has been funded by the big lottery fund, the joint opperating name for the New Opportunities Fund and National Lottery Charities Bond. The Big Lottery Fund, launched on 1st June 2004, is distributing half of the National Lottery good causes funding accross the UK.
AIMS:-

Collect household goods for re-use

Redistribute goods (second hand) to those on benefits or low income

Provide access to affordable household items
-
Provide paid and voluntary employment
-
Offer work based training
-
Promote and support environmental projects
-
Educate the public on the benefits of re-use

Reduce the amount of items going into ladfill sites
HOW YOU CAN HELP:-
We require a constant supply of second hand goods and furniture of an acceptable quality to put into our furniture showroom in Nuneaton.

3 Piece Suites (with fire labels)
Tables and Chairs
Beds (with fire labels)
Bedding
Washing Machines
Tumble Dryers
Crockery
Cutlery
Fridges/Freezers (subject to regulations)
Electric Cookers
Small electrical Items
Soft Furnishings

All financial donations are gratefully received to support the project.
Prices of second hand furniture and goods varies but here is a brief idea of costs involved:-

THERE IS A 25% DISCOUNT SCHEME FOR THOSE ON BENEFITS OR LOW INCOME!

Monday - 9.30am - 12.30pm and 1.30pm - 4.00pm
Tuesday - 9.30am - 12.30pm and 1.30pm - 6.00pm
Wednesday - 9.30am - 12.30pm and 1.30pm - 4.00pm
Thursday - 9.30am - 12.30pm and 1.30pm - 4.00pm
Fridays - 9.30am - 12.30pm
Saturday - second one of each month 10.00am - 12.00pm
Collections are by donation but there is a small charge for deliveries.
If you are in need of furniture or other household items then please feel free to drop in during the above times.
WE WILL BE HOLDING A 'MINCE PIES AND MULLED WINE' MORNING ON DECEMBER 13TH SO PLEASE COME DOWN AND SUPPORT THE GREAT WORK WE DO!
