It is 25 years since the former village railway station was carefully restored and converted into an award-winning restaurant. Perkins has gained a reputation for food and service excellence and is recognised by all the top restaurant guides and regularly wins Nottingham Restaurant Awards.

Set in the lovely rural village of Plumtree, near Nottingham, one feels they are in for a real treat when they turn in to the tree-lined driveway. On the right hand side you may be lucky to catch mouth-watering wafts of smoking salmon from their own smokehouse. The grounds are lovingly kept and once in the restaurant and bar, the glowing warmth of the staff welcome, coupled with a recently refurbished interior makes one feel immediately at ease.

The fully licensed bar offers cask conditioned ale as well as an extensive range of excellent wines at reasonable cost. Fine dining in the restaurant is offered from the main à la carte menu, blackboard special dishes or an excellent value 2-course prix fixe lunch from Tuesday to Saturday. Also, the restaurant offers a set dinner menu available Tuesday-Thursday evenings. Sundays are left clear for a traditional lunch.

Restaurant favourites include crispy confit of duck with caramelised orange salad, classic whole lemon sole with tartare cream and for dessert, pine nut frangipan with spiced poached pear and homemade honey & clove ice cream. All food is freshly cooked to order, with dishes ranging from old French bistro classics to modern English. Fine dining at its best.
