I attended one of Micheal's workshops on 15/5/2012. From the moment I walked into the studio he made me and the participants feel at ease with the photography equipment we had.
The course itself was three hours, but in that short space of time I felt I had gained quite a bit of knowledge.
I will be looking into attending another one.

I was blown away by the course(Studio Lighting). Michael is very professional, very approachable and has some good stories to boot! Everything went very smoothly. The model was smashing. I think we all enjoyed exploring the use of the wind machine.

I have no hesitation in recommending this course. Stick it on manual and enjoy shooting some photos-you'll be amazed at what you can do with the equipment and it's easy because Michael sets it all up(and explains the reasons for what he's doing)

There are lots of photographers in Nottingham but very few that are so friendly, welcoming and creative as Michael. I attended a photography course for beginners. What an experience. I found Michael's approach to be perfect, easy to understand and very relaxed. It was my first time in a studio and the memory will stay with me for ever. I am now more confident and am experimenting with my camera. I am going back to take an intermediate course in the near future and would not hesitate to recommend this path of instruction to any one considering ways to fully understand digital photography. It's a must, tick that box.

Hi everyone, I have also just received 3 hours of tutorship from Michael on an introductory course to studio photography. From just using the SLR on automatic I am now confident to use Manual modes and understand the theory behind using the settings. Michael explains things in an easy to understand manner and is very patient as well as friendly and a good host. Im looking forward to booking another session. See you again soon Michael.

I have been taking portrait photos for about 2 years decided to get a bit of professional guidance. The work shop went down very well. I was well impressed with the choice of model, Donminika was very nice and professional to work with. I was i little uneasy at first. about the close up shots but Donminika was a vey pleasant person to work with. I was well pleased with the photos and the night was brilliant. Michael has inspired me to try new things. Be more articulate with the model and asking to hold the pose and move around more myself.

Our little family had a great session with Michael, my two year old little girl had a complete blast and it shows in the photos. Michael had a wonderful ability to make her and her parents feel very comfortable and we are extremely pleased with our photos. We had a family photo session with Michael and the results are fantastic. Michael made us all feel relaxed and it really shows in the picture, the personalities of our 8 and 5 year olds are showing through.
We bought the deal through Living Social which included 10 digital images - even though there were lots of great shots to choose from Michael put NO pressure on us to buy additional images which is really refreshing. Normally people trying to squeeze more money out of you.
If fact I was so impressed with his professionalism that I now take 1-1 photography lessons with Michael to learn more about my camera and how to take great picutures.
Would highly recommend Michael Lau both for photo sessions and as a tutor.

I worked with Michael yesterday on a very unusual shoot involving snakes, he was so friendly and lovely I immediately felt at ease with him. The team he had put together was superb showing he had took considerable care in choosing them. Michael had brilliant communication and talked to me constantly whilst shooting, making sure I was happy and ensuring we got the shoot spot on. Just a quick not to say how impressed we were when you undertook the photo shoot for our entry into the National ghd Expert Awards. I think we told you that we had no experience in this field at all, the only thing we had was a brief and a hair stylist. If it wasn’t for your expertise then we would had never found the right model, make-up artist and designer/stylist and of course photographer. The end result has been amazing, our first entry got us through to the finals in London, lots of media attention and certainly more local exposure of the salon. Our second entry got us through to the finals again, and also an article published in Tribute Magazine, a world wide publication for the Hair Industry, truly amazing!
