After the Shoot

Professional in every sense, skilful and knowledgeable in all that is photography, I have learned a lot from Michael and found inspiration in his work which has enabled me to take better photographs.
Michael and Yvonne gave us a very warm welcome and made the sitting a lot of fun. Michael went to great lengths to ensure that the chosen photographs were the very best they could be and that we were happy with them before submitting them to disc. I would certainly use Michael again and ladies, if your daughter wants a photo-shoot you can feel secure that they will be looked after from start to finish. This is a business with strong family values and they are lovely people.
Very good quality class- small group, friendly atmosphere, no unnecessary jargon, straight to the point- how to use your camera to take a good picture. I have learnt a lot and felt inspired to develop my skills.

I attended one of Michael's workshop's as a relative novice looking for a little help and advice. The group was small with 5 of us in total. The atmosphere was relaxed and informal with Michael giving us all equal time and attention. The focus was on improving our own standard not competing with the others. I have now attended 3 workshop's and continue to improve each time.
Recently attended a studio lighting course which was first-rate from start to finish. The three hour course turned into almost four hours, was very well structured and, with the group limited to only six people, there was an awful lot of personal tuition offered. Michael's easy manner is designed to put course members at ease and helps promote an excellent evening. - Can't recommend too highly!
I attended one of Micheal's workshops on 15/5/2012. From the moment I walked into the studio he made me and the participants feel at ease with the photography equipment we had. The course itself was three hours, but in that short space of time I felt I had gained quite a bit of knowledge. I will be looking into attending another one. Thanks for the experience. I was blown away by the course(Studio Lighting). Michael is very professional, very approachable and has some good stories to boot! Everything went very smoothly. The model was smashing. I think we all enjoyed exploring the use of the wind machine. I have no hesitation in recommending this course. Stick it on manual and enjoy shooting some photos-you'll be amazed at what you can do with the equipment and it's easy because Michael sets it all up(and explains the reasons for what he's doing)
Having gone to Michael's class from Leicester I did not know what to expect and was pleasantly suprised at how much I enjoyed to learn. With Michael having a relaxed, inspirational and professional approach it has made me feel that photography will be a great new addition to my life. Thankyou.
We knew we needed to find someone creative that could help bring our brand and campaigns to life through images. After a month of searching for that someone special we found the creative legend that is Michael Lau. There are lots of photographers in Nottingham but very few that are so friendly, welcoming and creative as Michael. Michael really is the BEST in Nottingham at what he does, the images he created for us are testiment to this.
I attended a photography course for beginners. What an experience. I found Michael's approach to be perfect, easy to understand and very relaxed. It was my first time in a studio and the memory will stay with me for ever. I am now more confident and am experimenting with my camera. I am going back to take an intermediate course in the near future and would not hesitate to recommend this path of instruction to any one considering ways to fully understand digital photography. It's a must, tick that box.

I attended Michaels class for beginning in studio work it was not only interesting but very informative. Michael was excelent and very patient with us all and introduced to going manual was first class gave me a lot more confidence for the future look forward to possibly attending more classes in the near future
I took the plunge and booked into one of Michael's studio photography workshops - I am so glad I did. He was so welcoming and put the group at ease enabling us to feel relaxed and therefore learn and experiment without feeling self-conscious. Hi everyone, I have also just received 3 hours of tutorship from Michael on an introductory course to studio photography. From just using the SLR on automatic I am now confident to use Manual modes and understand the theory behind using the settings. Michael explains things in an easy to understand manner and is very patient as well as friendly and a good host. Im looking forward to booking another session. See you again soon Michael.
I have been taking portrait photos for about 2 years decided to get a bit of professional guidance. The work shop went down very well. I was well impressed with the choice of model, Donminika was very nice and professional to work with. I was i little uneasy at first. about the close up shots but Donminika was a vey pleasant person to work with. I was well pleased with the photos and the night was brilliant. Michael has inspired me to try new things. Be more articulate with the model and asking to hold the pose and move around more myself.
I had a portrait photography course with Michael to gain experience with studio lighting and a professional model.I found the session very informative and certainly leaves you wanting more.Michael is very knowledgeable and easy to approach.I would recommend this course to any portrait photographer.Thank you Michael.
I went for a studio photography and lighting teaching session with Michael yesterday and had a really good evening. Michael is a nice, patient guy and is very good at explaining the minefield that is digital photography, even to a numpty like me! Highly recommended.

Our little family had a great session with Michael, my two year old little girl had a complete blast and it shows in the photos. We had a family photo session with Michael and the results are fantastic. Michael made us all feel relaxed and it really shows in the picture, the personalities of our 8 and 5 year olds are showing through. We bought the deal through Living Social which included 10 digital images - even though there were lots of great shots to choose from Michael put NO pressure on us to buy additional images which is really refreshing. Normally people trying to squeeze more money out of you. If fact I was so impressed with his professionalism that I now take 1-1 photography lessons with Michael to learn more about my camera and how to take great picutures. Would highly recommend Michael Lau both for photo sessions and as a tutor.
Michael made both myself and my son feel very relaxed and comfortable with his great personality.
