Extra spectacle has been added to the Norwich Puppet Theatre foyer this Christmas with a display of Origami Mobiles designed and created by Gemma Khawaja.
Using simple paper folding and cutting techniques Gemma has made a wonderful display of paper stars, snowflakes and birds for all to enjoy as they come to buy tickets or wait to enter the theatre for a show. The paper ornaments are strung from branches collected from the Puppet Theatre grounds and swing gently in the air currents created by the heating and movement of people below.
As well as the mobiles delighting audiences in the foyer, Gemma has set up an exhibition of her intricate paper engineered and 'fretted' designs in the upper Octagon gallery. This features a colourful centre piece mobile, a miniature theatre and working carousel to marvel at with many of the items being cut from a single sheet of paper!
The exhibition runs from 17th December to 3rd January and is open every day except Sunday from 10am to 4pm
