The Ribs of Beef is a friendly, clean, well maintained public house that Norwich should be proud of. They are a real ale pub, and it is so good that both my partner and his family have been drinking in there since they moved to Norwich 12 years ago. The beer is always excellent and now they have the addition of Kastel cru pink lager which is a must. The food is very well priced, big portions. This pub is exactly as a pub should be. Others around Norwich should take note.

The first pub in Norwich that I ever visited (in 1995) was the “Ribs”. I was here on a week’s holiday and liked the city and its people so much that by the end of 2002 I was living here. Where did I first meet those friendly people, you’ve guessed, it was the Ribs. I found then and still find now a warm welcome, a wide range of competitively priced real ale and fine pub food. The customers are a broad mix of locals, and visitors who all contribute to the ambience of a tradition pub with laughter, concern and debate being added to the mix. Try it you won’t be disappointed.
