Norwich Puppet Theatre provides a fantastic introduction to puppetry both with its varied performances for children and on certain occasions for adults. It is housed in a medieaval church with a raked auditorium seating 186 people and a studio/workshop which accommodates 50. The Saturday morning workshops provide an imaginative and entertaining morning for children to make a variety of puppets, marionettes, stick, shadow puppets, etc. around special themes - it is one of two puppet companies in the UK and provides the "jewel in the crown" for Norwich.

It brings the joy of the imagination alive for young and old alike. It is active not passive entertainment. And is professional theatre, with all the energy, passion, enthusiasm and quirky charm that you might associate with something more amateur. It draws you into worlds where the child in all of us still lives.

The Puppet Theatre is a friendly intimate venue welcoming to children and adults. It offers great customer service, reasonable pricing and most importantly of all a varied season of puppet shows and puppetry techniques.

This venue is unique to Norwich, Norfolk, the Eastern region and indeed to the country. It's a treasure.

It puts on great shows for children (and adults)and is one of the few dedicated puppetry theatres in the country. It has survived despite having its funding cut and is an example to other organisations of how to succeed in these difficult financial times. The theatre is very friendly, very quirky, and its a great place to visit.

It provides an opportunity for audiences of all ages to see a much under-represented art form. It is one of only two purpose built puppet theatres in the UK and the only one outside London. It often provides the first theatrical experience for a young person with its capacity to tell stories in a magical and accessible way. It also has a range of exciting training and education opportunities for children and adults, both at the theatre and out in the local community. It tours original shows across the UK, acting as a hub for practitioners to meet, exchange ideas and show their work.

NPT is one of only two puppet theatres in the country, which is something to be proud about in itself. It's run by an amazing, professional team, who are completely inspirational. It has shows at affordable prices, so everyone can enjoy them. It's education programme is second to none. AND, to top it all off, it's making the most of a beautiful, medieval, disused church. What more can be said?

I love that the puppet theatre is a great venue for so much more than just puppet shows. You can book it for a function and attend workshops and meetings there. It's a very different venue to the normal boring offices and hotel function rooms which is great.

It's a unique arts and entertainment venue for families and children and all ages. It is one of only two purpose adapted theatres really set up to show the best of puppet theatre. It provides a great first access to live theatre for young children, and a choice of performances spaces for a wide range of smaller theatre companies to develop and perform their stuff. It has a terrific education programme - visiting schools and it's fully equipped and has expert staff to run workshops in the Theatre.

We love the magic. Every puppet performance has suspended time and transported us to a magical place; a paper ballerina, a hand becoming a seagull and the children living the story. Watch your children thrill with wonder and belief.

One of my "favourite places" for the last 30 years. My own children were enchanted and now my grandchildren are able to enjoy it - delightful, magical shows that really involve the children. The foyer is an exciting place too, with lots of puppets and wonderful Hunkin mechanical person who collects money.

Magical puppet shows for children (and adults) and great workshops. Intimate size theatre just right to really involve children. I used to take my children 25-30 years ago. I now take my grandchildren and we all LOVE it! Especially the puppets hanging in the foyer and the Hunkin collection character.

It is a totally unique venue offering an alternative scene to theatre and puppetry fans alike. The place is beautiful outside and adorned with magical puppet from floor to ceiling inside. A true gem of a theatre and one of Norwich's best kept secrets deserves a big shout about it! I absolutely love the puppet theatre. We are so lucky to have it on our doorstep. xxxxx

One of only two puppet theatres in the whole of England, NPT is a delightful little gem of a venue. Housed in a medieval church, steeped in history and atmosphere, the theatre is an excellent day out for the family, not only do they have interesting and quirky little shows but also puppet making workshops for the young and old alike.

So drag the kids away from their Playstations and Xboxes and immerse them in something that's real, imaginative and a even little bit magical.
