Taverham-based photographer Julia Holland is celebrating a hat-trick of success over the past few months which have seen her scoop a national photography title, an award of excellence in an international competition and gain a professional accolade shared by only two other photographers in the whole of Norfolk.
Last week, Julia was awarded The SWPP Glamour & Beauty Photographer of the Year 2011 at the SWPP (Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers) Annual awards dinner. The judges commented on her winning image:
“Beautiful portrait with simple lighting over the mask of the face, which demonstrates excellent control. A fine example of a well crafted image.”
Commenting after her national title, Julia said, “I am thrilled to have had such a great year of achievement. I am always striving to improve my skills and imagery, so receiving recognition within the industry has made all of the hard work worthwhile. I will continue to work hard to perfect my art and look forward to creating beautiful lasting imagery for my clients in 2012.”
Julia owns and runs all-about-image photography based in Taverham. Her work encompasses portraits, wedding, events and corporate photography.
Julia is a member of two of the largest and most prestigious organisations within the photographic industry.
As such, the associations offer training, mentoring and qualification structures to help professional photographers to reach the highest standards. In August, Julia was awarded the level of Associate Membership in Portrait Photography by the Master Photographers Association.
Julia is the official photographer for local charity Keeping Abreast, and was responsible for the “Calendar Girls” style calendar in 2010. She is also the official photographer for Miss Universe Norfolk, and will be covering the final on January 29 at Dunston Hall Hotel.
