You can't have missed it - it's our "14 Days of Love" campaign - where we ask people to show some "Love" for local businesses.
Every day until 14th February, thebestof is offering a prize to someone who has written a testimonial about a local business.
It's easy to get caught up in the "win prizes" excitement - and it's great that local businesses have a focus to help them get testimonials during what is usually a dreary time of year.
Not everyone finds it easy to ask people to give them a testimonial so this campaign helps them along the way.
I was speaking on Future Radio today, on the fantastic Business Life Radio Show, presented by Richard Maun and Julie Bishop and realised that it's easy to forget the real effect this campaign has on businesses.
Imagine you are a business and you are having a bad day (it happens to all of us), then you receive an e-mail with a lovely comment from one of your clients. And then another one. And then another one.
How great do you think they will feel?
And how much more likely is it that they will get more business when people read these lovely comments?
Some of the testimonials are amazing.
Take this one, for example, which came in yesterday for The Barn Therapy Centre.
"I used to go up stairs on all-fours, and park as close a possible to shops. My knees hurt like crazy - arthritis has removed the cartilage. My consultant and physios have been unable to help me. Surgery was the likely option.
I had a session with Linda over three months ago -no surgery - last sunday I went for a 2 hour walk in the snow and ice and next week we are off on a walking week in Venice. Unbelievable!!
What a star! Thank you, thank you, thank you!! XXX"
People have been telling us that they have been with their hairdresser for 21 years, 27 years and even 38 years! That's longer than most people have been married.
One person wrote that she travelled all the way from Cambridge to a Norwich hairdresser based on a testimonial that she read on our website.
The campaign is a fun way to promote a serious cause - helping local businesses.
And on the "fun" side, OPL Productions produced a video for us to promote the 14 Days of Love campaign featuring "Juliette Love" and a surprise friend - the page views are shooting up every day.
Take a look here.
