I walked on 8 of the 10 days of the festival and thoroughly enjoyed myself. It't the first time I've been involved in the organisation, so I took a special interest in what walkers were saying. There were approx. 550 attendances for >20 events. Most walkers had been before, and return because they like the friendly atmosphere, well-organised walks, excellent walking country and variety of events. There were more newcomers this time, and numbers were up. Our next event is the first Haltwhistle Challenge (>24 miles) on May 9th, and plans are under way for the 2009 Autumn Festival, October 9 - 18th.
