Charity Zumba Marathon sets the pace for London Marathon!

Over 130 Zumba fitness enthusiasts enjoyed a mega Zumba session raising over £1300.00 for Charity.

The event organised on the 9th April 2011 took place at Everdon Sports Hall at the University of Northampton.  Three Zumba instructors took the mammoth session to help event organiser Julia Watson of W17 Events Ltd., raise money for charity.

Julia Watson said: “ a group of local business people have come together and called themselves Shire Heroes.  Our aim is to raise money for Help for Heroes, Veterans Aid and the British Legion.  We are planning a dinner in June and I wanted to get some money raised before then, and we did!

“Let me tell you it was hard work for everyone.  Dancing around for 3 hours working up a sweat was great fun, and with our end target in mind we all did it.  Thankfully no-one collapsed with exhaustion. It was a great morning and a thanks to all my fellow Zumba goers we raised £1300 for the charities.”

Shire Heroes is focusing on the dinner now on the 24th June.  To support the evening, tickets available from http://www.shireheroes.org.uk
